In the process of shopping for a window, there are so many
details to consider that many people overlook the most important
part…the glass. PPG Solarban® 70 Solar Control Low-E
glass was engineered to provide year-round comfort. It keeps
you cooler in the summer by keeping solar heat out and it keeps
you warmer in the winter by keeping furnace heat in. You only
purchase replacement windows once, so do it right the first
time.

PPG offers a Solar Control Low-E glass that maximizes
window performance in hot climates, where air-conditioning costs
are significant. This Solar Control Low-E glass is designed
to block direct solar heat (year-round) while providing improved
thermal comfort in the winter. |
Solarban® Solar Control Low-E Glasses Solarban®
70 was engineered to control solar heat gain, which is essential to
minimizing cooling costs. In a standard one-inch insulating glass
unit, Solarban® 70 has the following features: •
Exterior appearance similar to clear, uncoated glass • Blocks
approximately 70% of the total solar energy • Excellent
insulation value (U-Value = 0.29)
Solarban® 70 glass is now available on Starphire® ultra-clear
glass and can also be combined in insulating units with an outboard
lite of a PPG tinted or reflective tinted glass to increase performance
options.
Note: This product meets the new energy efficiency guidelines set
forth by the Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) for spectrally
selective glazing products.
